So I made it to Australia after a long travel. The other guys arrived a bit earlier and picked me up from the airport in Melbourne and we spent the night in the city. Melbourne seems like a really cool place and we’ll go back there to pick up Keith in a few days.

We got a nice cabin very close to all the climbing, so we’re psyched. We’ve only climbed two days so far, but we already checked out quite a few of the projects. On the first day we climbed in the Hollow mountain cave and worked out all the parts to Wheel of Life. That line is crazy long and doesn’t have much to do with bouldering if you ask me, but it’s a very unique climb and will surely get you fit for the Taipan wall. Speaking of the Taipan wall, it looks stunning and got me psyched on getting on a rope.

Some of the boulder projects we’ve seen so far are really impressive and we got close to climbing one of them the other day. There’s still a lot that we haven’t seen and we haven’t even had the change to climb on the Taipan wall yet. It also seems like there’s a lot of rock waiting to be found, especially on the bouldering front.

The landscape is beautiful here and there are crazy birds and kangaroos all over the place. Kangaroos seem to be the local deer and they get hit by cars all the time. Unfortunately the first kangaroo we saw was dead on the side of the road. Today is a rest day for the crew and it’s raining. The weather forecast doesn’t look too good for the next days, but at least there are caves where you can climb even if it rains.
